EU-UNICEF in collaboration with State Ministry of Health begins two days State Every Newborn Action Committee stakeholders engagement and situation analysis meeting.
In her presentation to unveiled the meeting objectives and expected outcomes; the committee chairperson Dr. Celine Laori said the essence is to Sensitize Stakeholders on Maternal and Newborn Health in Nigeria with a focus on Adamawa State and the need to fast track newborn health interventions
Laori encourage the stakeholders to deliberate extensively in order to fashion out a comprehensive situation analysis and strategies that will strengthen newborns interventions.
Earlier in her remarks, the Honourable Commissioner Dr Fatima Atiku Abubakar lauded unicef for the intervention and urged participant to remain focus and deliberate thoroughly on all issues affecting newborn.
“We are all stakeholders let work hard and produce a comprehensive plan that will support new-born interventions at all levels of care, harness power of parents, families and communities.” she conclude
In her separate presentation entitled “ EVIDENCE BASED HIGH IMPACT INTERVENTIONS “ Dr. Ada Ruth said the goal of every newborn action plan is to prevent newborn deaths or stillbirths, where every pregnancy is wanted, every birth celebrated, and women, babies and children survive, thrive and reach their full potential.
The stakeholders were drawn from line Ministries and partners.
